Lauterborn Electric was called to Fishtown after a homebuyer’s inspection report showed knob and tube wiring in the house. Like a lot of older Philadelphia homes, some areas of the house had knob and tube replaced during renovations but other areas of the house still had the old wiring.
The majority of the knob in tube was confined to the bedrooms, living room, dining room and hallways. The hardest areas to rewire in older homes are the hallways and the ceilings between the first and second floors.
The home buyers also decided to upgrade their main electrical service to 200 amps. We added both hard-wired smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
