Knob and Tube Rewire in Fairmount

This Fairmount home recently purchased by the home owner was built in 1925 according to the City of Philadelphia records.

The property still had the original ungrounded knob and tube wiring throughout with some minor upgrades in the kitchen area.

Lauterborn Electric hired by the new owner came in with a game plan not only to rewire existing outdated receptacles but to add some to bring the property up to code.

Part of a knob rewire includes trenching ceilings and walls to allow for the new wiring.

Lighting was added in rooms where none had originally existed. Smoke detectors were hard wired throughout for safety, and a new 100 AMP main electrical panel was installed to allow for the new wiring.
