Many insurance companies have been auditing policies and electrical safety has become a priority. We recently were called out to a multifamily dwelling in the Roxborough section of the city of Philadelphia because of an outdated main service that did not meet safety requirements for the insurance carrier. The main cable was frayed to the point of the strands showing on the exterior, and the electrical equipment was worn and outdated. After consulting with the owner of the property Lauterborn Electric recommended a new 400 AMP service. A set of engineered drawings with power load calculations detailing the service were submitted to the City of Philadelphia as per requirements to obtain the permit. A seven gang meter bank was installed on the exterior and seven new panels in the basement were installed to replace the existing fuse boxes feeding each individual unit. After the conclusion of the service a final inspection was scheduled and the work was approved. For all of your electrical needs contact your Philadelphia licensed electrician Lauterborn Electric.
