Most of the time there is no existing wiring or junction box where the customer wants to install a ceiling fan. The most common new installs go in bedrooms. The process of installing a ceiling fan from scratch can differ depending on conditions. If there is already good wiring at the switch in the bedroom it is just a matter of getting a wire from that box to a ceiling fan rated box. Most of the time this requires making holes to get around framing. Installations in drywall ceilings are easier than plaster ceilings. A proper ceiling fan rated junction box should always be used. The pictures show different stages of the install process. For all of your electrical needs contact your licensed Philadelphia Electricians Lauterborn Electric. Click images to enlarge.
