When the demolition of this project began it exposed a much larger issue. The exposed exisitng wiring was a combination of older KT (knob & tube) and BX armored cable. This older wiring was prevalent throughout the home. We at Lauterborn Electric recommended a complete rewire and the new home owners agreed. Notching of walls and ceilings was necessary throughout to allow for fishing and running of new lines. Completely renovating two master bedrooms as well as a family room were also added to the scope of work. A larger main service was required to allow for additional circuitry. Hard wired smoke detectors in all bedrooms with combination carbon monoxide/ smoke detectors in hallway areas adjacent to all bedrooms was also in the plans. This very challenging project finally came to a successful conclusion and attached are some of the before and after images.
