Double tapped breakers

by Lauterborn Electric on January 6th, 2014

Lauterborn ElectricDouble tapped breakers is a code violation that we see most as electricians. The doubling of wires on one breaker has the potential of overheating and causing either a power outage or in some cases even a fire. The image shows the result of a double tapped breaker. Many unqualified electricians violate this code as a result of not having enough space in an existing panel and trying to add circuitry. Panel manufactures stress having one wire per breaker set screw. For all of your electrical needs contact your licensed electrician Lauterborn Electric. Click Image to Enlarge.
