Replacing knob and tube wiring

by Lauterborn Electric on September 4th, 2012

Replacing knob and tube wiring in a home can be a challenging and expensive proposition.  Most of the knob and tube wiring in a home is normally inside the walls and ceilings and it takes a very careful game plan to be able to replace this outdated wiring.   Taking advantage of open spaces in the attic above and basement below allow for some of the rewiring. However, making openings and notches is generally necessary to allow wiring in areas not easily accessible. Game planning with a qualified electrician is essential in making this difficult process go as smoothly as possible.
